Facebook Pages are getting updated

Facebook pages are getting an updated layout and several new features to help you engage with your fans.

Here’s some of what you will be getting:

  • Notifications when fans interact with your page or posts
  • A place to showcase photos along the top of your page
  • A news feed for your page
  • The ability to Like and post on other pages as your page

You can preview your page by following the link in the email that was sent to you by Facebook and you will be given the option to upgrade early.

All pages will automatically be upgraded on March 10.

Recent Changes to Google Places (Local Business Center)

Google Places has changed a lot recently, Google have updated the email preferences to include new communications.
Starting August 25th, the new settings enable you to receive emails on Performance Updates, Feature Announcements, Special Offers and Newsletters designed to help you understand and improve how your business is doing online.
Google have made these changes because Google Places has added many new features and they wanted to share tips, tricks and more to make sure you are getting the most out of your account.
If we have setup a social media marketing program make sure you go in and update your preferences in Google Places and if you are unsure how just contact us.

Another Successful Social Media Marketing Setup

Thanks to David, Paul and the team at EAC, my social media marketing platform was set-up in record time. I was impressed that as the CEO of Estate Agents Co-operative, David not only designed the integrated format, but also personally spent the time to understand my business specifically, and was very involved in implementing the right package. Employing EAC meant that my social media solution was being managed by experts in technology AND real estate…so that from the very beginning, my business has the opportunity to be as relevant and effective as possible in this exciting medium.

LinkedIn and Twitter Join Up

LinkedIn and Twitter have announced a partnership which will allow you to display your tweets on your LinkedIn profile and your LinkedIn status on Twitter.
This feature has now been added and can be set up as follows. Log into your LinkedIn account, click on “Edit My Profile” and choose “Add Twitter account”. Enter your Twitter username and password, choose whether or not you’d like your Twitter account visible on your profile and what Tweets you would like diplayed.

Social Media Marketing and Real Estate

I have recently spent a considerable amount of time studying the emerging area of Social Media Marketing and how it can be applied to the real estate industry.

For those that are now aware of what it is, Social media marketing is an engagement with online communities to generate exposure, opportunity and sales. This is performed through the use of tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Blogs to name a few.

I first came into contact with this area of marketing over two years ago at Inman Connect and it now quickly gaining traction. I have just returned from Inman Connect in San Francisco and let me tell you that the use of Social Media Marketing for an organistation is a must. It is no longer a case of I will get onto it soon.

You will need to get your head around how use these tools to promote you, your business and your listings pretty quickly and to make the job easier I have already begun putting together a package to help real estate agents do this and have been fine tuning the package with a few agents before offering it as a service to EAC Members.
