As part of the Budget on 12 May 2009 the Federal Government announced that the current First Home Owners Grant scheme boost will continue until 30th September 2009 in its current form. This means that those who buy an established home will receive $14,000 and those who buy a newly constructed home will receive $21,000. From the 1st October 2009 the First Home Owners Grant scheme boost will be halved and those who buy an established home will receive $10,500 and those who buy a newly constructed home will receive $14,000. From the 1st December the First Home Owners Grant scheme boost will come to an end and it will revert to the $7,000 grant for all first home buyers.
